Zena Algae Peel

The ZENA Algae Peel is made from the highest quality algae, environmentally friendly, from the lakes of Ukraine. The seaweed powder contains natural micro needles which will act on the epidermis and stimulate collagen production and accelerate cellular renewal. 

An organic peel that helps reduce acne, the appearance of pore size, fine lines and wrinkles, lightens acne scarring, pigmentation, melasma and stretch marks. This peel requires at least 5-7 days of downtime.

Contraindications:

  • Wounded Skin & open wounds
    (exception is active acne) skin lesions, scratches

  • Tanning habits
    (excessive sun exposure/tanning or those unwilling to wear SPF)

  • Problem with scarring

  • Rosacea Dermatitis

  • Acute infection, dermatological disease

  • Herpes

  • Eczema, psoriasis

  • Botox or filler done less than 3 weeks ago

  • Peels done less than 5 weeks ago

  • Suspend acid and retinoids 3 weeks before the peel

  • Microneedling sessions are done minimum of 4 weeks

  • Laser session done minimum of 6 weeks

  • Any skin condition that is on the skin

  • Day 1: Mild redness, sensitivity, and skin tightness or dryness in the treated area

    Day 2-3: Mild redness, sensitivity, and potential flakiness or peeling of the skin

    Day 4-5: Noticeable peeling with dryness and some itching. Skin may darken before full peeling

    Day 6-7: Peeling slows, revealing new skin, with lingering dryness and flakiness but softer, smoother skin.

    Day 8-9: Peeling revives skin, leaving it slightly dry but smooth and hydrated.

    Day 10: Healing complete, showcasing youthful, radiant skin. Use moisturizer if dryness appears.

  • Avoid:

    • Using acids/retinol use 3 weeks prior.

    • Laser treatments 6 weeks prior.

    • Botox, fillers, and face injections should be done at least 3 weeks prior.

    • Men should not shave their beards for at least 4 days prior.

    • Microneedling should be done 4 weeks prior.

    • Previous peels should not have been done within the last 5 weeks.

    • UV rays, including tanning, for a minimum of 15 days.

  • Always wash hands before applying products on the skin. Please follow the healing days process after the treatment.

    Day 1: Do not wash your face for 12 hours.

    Day 2:
    Morning:
    Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, then apply ointment and SPF. (Wear SPF 30 or 50 everyday)
    Evening: Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and only apply ointment.

    Day 3 - 7:
    Morning:
    Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, then apply SPF. (No moisturizer or ointment) The more drier the skin, the better.
    Evening: Wash your face with only cleanser. Do not apply any other skincare products.

    Avoid:

    • All sun exposure for a minimum of 3 weeks. If you plan to go out, please wear a hat throughout the peeling process.

    • Exercise or sweating for 24-72 hours and wash makeup brushes before use.

    • Hot water directly to the face in the shower.

    • Using active ingredients for 3-5 days.

    • Any exfoliation for 3 weeks.

    • No hard friction on the area being peeled.

    • Peeling the peel from the skin. Use brow scissors to nip away peeling skin or let the skin fall on its own.

    Please note it is common for the skin to darken 3-4 days after the treatment until peeling has been completed. Pigmentation will rise to the surface of the skin before peeling.

    For acne-prone clients, it is typical for the acne to surface as part of the skin purging process.
