Pre & After Care Procedures

Please read the following to ensure you optimize your facial treatment result.

Facial

    • Avoid any using active ingredients such as AHA/BHA, Retinol, and Retin-A 5-7 days before to reduce skin sensitivity.

    • Wait 2 weeks before your appointment if you recently gotten botox or fillers.

    • Refrain from waxing 5-7 days before your treatment to reduce sensitivity and discomfort.

    • Avoid excessive sun exposure 1 week before such as tanning beds, spray tans, and self-tanning lotions.

    • Stop any medium/deep chemical resurfacing and laser treatment 1 month before to avoid skin damage.

    • Please let us know if you have an active cold sore or herpes simplex as it is recommended to wait until it fully heals.

    • Use a gentle facial wash or cleanser, followed by a hydrating serum and moisturizer.

    • Avoid 1 week of any exfoliation and active ingredients such as AHA/BHA, retinol You may need to check your toner, serum, or moisturizer as it may contained active ingredients.

    • Do not use Benzoyl Peroxide for the first 7 days after your treatment as it is an exfoliation agent for deeper acne or cystic acne.

    • Apply SPF 30+ regularly, reapply every 2 hours, and wear a hat to protect against UV rays.

    • Refrain wearing makeup or heavy skincare in the first 24 hours after your facial appointment.

    • Avoid direct sunlight and tanning in the first 48 hours.

    • Do not pick or touch your skin to prevent from scarring.

    • No hot showers, sauna, and excessive workouts in the first 48 hours.

    • Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and prevent dehydration of the skin.

Zena Algae Peel

  • Avoid:

    • Using acids/retinol use 3 weeks prior.

    • Laser treatments 6 weeks prior.

    • Botox, fillers, and face injections should be done at least 3 weeks prior.

    • Men should not shave their beards for at least 4 days prior.

    • Microneedling should be done 4 weeks prior.

    • Previous peels should not have been done within the last 5 weeks.

    • UV rays, including tanning, for a minimum of 15 days.

  • Always wash hands before applying products on the skin. Please follow the healing days process after the treatment.

    Day 1: Do not wash your face for 12 hours.

    Day 2:
    Morning:
    Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, then apply ointment and SPF. (Wear SPF 30 or 50 everyday)
    Evening: Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and only apply ointment.

    Day 3 - 7:
    Morning:
    Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, then apply SPF. (No moisturizer or ointment) The more drier the skin, the better.
    Evening: Wash your face with only cleanser. Do not apply any other skincare products.

    Avoid:

    • All sun exposure for a minimum of 3 weeks. If you plan to go out, please wear a hat throughout the peeling process.

    • Exercise or sweating for 24-72 hours and wash makeup brushes before use.

    • Hot water directly to the face in the shower.

    • Using active ingredients for 3-5 days.

    • Any exfoliation for 3 weeks.

    • No hard friction on the area being peeled.

    • Peeling the peel from the skin. Use brow scissors to nip away peeling skin or let the skin fall on its own.

    Please note it is common for the skin to darken 3-4 days after the treatment until peeling has been completed. Pigmentation will rise to the surface of the skin before peeling.

    For acne-prone clients, it is typical for the acne to surface as part of the skin purging process.

Microneedling

  • Reminder: Keep your skin hydrated before and after the treatment.

    • Do not wear make-up on the day of the appointment.

    • Avoid any using active ingredients such as AHA/BHA, Retinol, and Retin-A 7-10 days before to reduce skin sensitivity.

    • Wait2 weeks before your appointment if you recently gotten botox or fillers.

    • Refrain from waxing, laser hair removal, threading, appplying hair removal cream, electrolysis, and bleaching 7-14 days before your treatment to reduce sensitivity and discomfort.

    • Stop any medium/deep chemical resurfacing and laser treatment for 1 month order to do microneedling.

  • Immediately after your treatment, you may experience a sunburn-like appearance with moderate to severe redness, accompanied by a sensation of warmth and tighter-than-usual skin. Some slight swelling may occur, which is normal and typically subsides within 1-4 hours or within the same day, lasting up to 24-48 hours. Expect dryness and flakiness as well.

    • Do not pick or peel your skin

    • Use hydrating serum to retain moisture in the skin

    Always wash hands before applying products on the skin. Please follow the healing days process after the treatment.

    Day 1: After 8 hours the appointment, you may wash your face with only water. Do not wash your face with a cleanser for 24 hours after the treatment.

    Day 2 - 7:
    Morning:
    Cleanse with a gentle cleanser. Optionally, use Hydrochloric Acid spray if needed. Apply Hyaluronic Acid serum on damp skin, followed by a non-comedogenic moisturizer. Finish with SPF 30+ sunscreen (start on day 3)
    Evening: Cleanse with a gentle cleanser. Optionally, use Hydrochloric Acid spray if needed. Apply Hyaluronic Acid serum on damp skin, followed by a non-comedogenic moisturizer.

    Avoid:

    • Applying makeup to your face for at least 48 to 72 hours after the appointment.

    • Using active ingredients such as AHA/BHA, Retinol, and Retin-A , or scrubs for 1 week.

    • Laser hair removal, waxing, sunbeds, swimming, and sauna until your skin is fully healed between 2-4 weeks.

    • Swimming or refrain from exercising strenuously for the first 72 hours post-treatment.

    • Resume over-the-counter acne medication and medical-grade products after 1 week, and topical prescriptions after 2 weeks.
